More Pool Time

The Guffey's pool is a favorite place to gather. We had a wonderful day this week with our friends, the Stevens. The girls, Lauren and Sarah were spending the week in Waverly with their grandparents so it was the perfect opportunity to get together to cool off. We spent the morning shopping for birthday gifts and then came out to the house for some time in the water. The girls had a great time on the slide and playing tug of war with each other. Following swimming, Lauren and Sarah spent the night with us and then we went to see Despicable Me in 3D with their Big Daddy, Mima, Aunt Kyes and Susan. Lunch followed the movie and the great day was finished off with a caravan ride back to Birmingham. Susan and I each traded a girl in Waverly and swapped back when we got back to Birmingham.

Samantha's newest slide technique.

Lauren and Kaitlyn. They've been buddies since birth. Lauren is 3 months older than Kailtyn and when I had to go back to work when Kaitlyn was 3 months old, Susan kept Kailtyn for me. So many of Kailtyn's firsts, were taught to her by Lauren.

Sarah (11), Samantha, and Lauren (9) getting ready for a trip down the slide.

Kaitlyn with her cousin Megan (15). Megan and Brenna were spending a couple of days with Grannymom and Grandpops last week and we were able to make it out there for a day. Megan is Kaitlyn's "act a like". It's amazing what a role genetics play in our personalities. Kaitlyn has certain expressions, tone of voices and a giggle that when they pop out, I would think it were Megan if I didn't know better. It's really cute and I love that they share that. Kaitlyn can even hear it in herself at times.

Brenna and Samantha. Just as there are so many similiarities between Kaitlyn and Megan, there are also many similarities between Brenna and Samantha. It's fun to get a glimpse of the future. We are so blessed by such wonderful cousins. They are so sweet and patient with the girls and they just absolutely love them.
