Well, this is my last hello from Lusaka for about 6 weeks. We are taking our first trip home to hug everyone and say hello. We are VERY exicited. We fly out around noon tomorrow (Monday) and will land in Atlanta at 7:05 am CST. I am almost ready (I think). I have most of the things near their containers but not packed exactly. I should be doing that now while Olivia is napping....oh well :)
We have our last Bible study for the Holiday tonight (I say holiday instead of summer because it is "winter" here. It was 43 deg. Farenheit this morning when we woke up. That doesn't seem very cold until you consider sleeping in a tent at that temperature--which is exactly what the houses are like. There isn't any insulation or heat in any of the buildings here, in fact, there are vents near the ceiling in every room to let the heat out. This is fine and dandy in October when it's melting here, but it really works against you in the winter. It's only felt REALLY cold here for about a week. July is the coldest month and I'm more than happy to say...."See ya in August". Samantha was in our bed from about 1 or 2am on and Kailtyn joined us about 4, just trying to keep warm --I'm not too upset that I didn't get sleep, I'm hoping I will pass out on the plane:) ) I've made potatoe soup because it's soup night instead of "finger foods" night (every first Sunday of the month). This is the second time this week for the soup. It's my Mimi's recipie and I love it...espcially since I am so chilled.
After study, we'll have some friends come back to visit awhile and to say goodbye.....It's funny.....before coming, I always pictured coming home and then always saying my goodbyes there, but it is just as sad leaving here to come back home because we are leaving our Zambia family behind. The Lord has blessed us with such WONDERFUL friends and community and we have become each others' families. I never pictured this side of it before we came, but as we get excited about coming home, our heart is torn as we leave new family behind.
Well, I'm going to cut out and go attempt some organization of the trunks. I'd love to have them in the van tonight :) What are the chances?
Love and Hugs to you all....I hope to give them in person real soon!
