Here we all are with our little tree. Yes, that's Samantha in a bathing suit. It's still 85-90 degrees here (at least it feels like it-there's no weather channel)
Find the boy in white center stage and look at the girl in red to the left. That's Samantha. If you click on the picture, it will enlarge and you can see her and all her sparkle. We don't have a picture of Kaitlyn because the older kids sat in the audience and sang. We couldn't get a picture of her due to the crowd and darkness.
Kaitlyn and Samantha were in a Christmas program at school called "Christmas Coutdown" Samantha's class went through the letters of the spelling "Christmas Countdown" and the kids in green held up the letter and shouted it's name, then the child in red in front of the letter stood up and held up a picture of something Christmas related that started with that letter. Samantha stood up and shouted "mmmmm is for mince pies" She did a great job and spoke very loudly and clearly. I asked her later if she knew what a mince pie was, and she said no. I told her neither did I. It's all very confusing. Mince is ground beef, but mince pies do not have any meet in it. They are like tarts of some sort--I think.
The girls and Brad and Emmanuel (our gardener) started a small garden. They planted green beans (far left), corn (seen center), tomatoes (right) and watermelon (behind girls). They were very proud of themselves and excitedly check on their garden on a regular basis.
This is a picture of the girls painting their cardboard ornaments for the tree. They had a good time and proudly placed them on the tree once they were dry.

Hello to the Zoo,
Looks like you guys really have the Christmas Spirit. It is all about loving one another and rejoicing at the birth of our Savior. Samantha, Granny Mom says that Mince Meat Pie is made up of raisins, and chopped nuts and apples (or at least that is the way her mom – your great Granny Mom – used to make it). I do love the way you have decorated your Christmas tree. It shows real talent.
I am very proud of your garden. Girls, when he was about 10 or 12, your dad decided that he was going to put in a commercial garden in order to make some extra spending money. So we plowed up about a quarter acre of space and he planted all kinds of vegetables. He was up every morning at sunrise (before 5:00 AM) and went out into the garden to pull weeds, water and pick beans, peas, squash and corn. He worked hard and made a reasonable amount of money. I think that summer taught him a lot – probably most importantly – not to be a farmer.
Maybe you can save some of your corn for Granny Mom and me when we get to come and see you.
Love to all you.
