Those who have been following the blog for awhile will remember that the girls used to go horseback riding once a week. Well, we have not done that for awhile now due to the loss of our teacher and not being entirely comfortable with the replacement. So Steph and I have planned for a long time actually to find this other place (The Lazy J) that we had heard about. Even though we'd heard of it, when it came time to find it, no one seemed to know where it was. Finally, Steph found it last week (it is waaaaay on the outskirts of town) with the help of our old teacher. So the girls have resumed horseback riding lessons today.
They were so excited! When I returned home from my run this morning at 7:15 am, Kaitlyn was up, dressed in her riding clothes and had completed 3 of her subjects for school. She was 'just so excited about riding this afternoon'. Shortly thereafter, Samantha got up and was repeatedly concerned that we were starting school late and she would miss her lesson. By 10am, Samantha was attired in her riding clothes, complete with boots and helmet and wore the helmet until Steph came to pick them up at 1:20pm. She even practiced piano in her riding helmet. It was the perfect picture, but I wasn't fast enough to get it. They took off with their friends, complete with satchel filled with water, snacks and carrots for the horses, of course. As they were loading the car, Steph leaned out the window and asked, have your girls had their helmets on since they got up like mine? Wow. Little minds think alike. I just love them!! So, they are hopefully having fun. I expect them back in the next 30 min.
Olivia of course has nothing to do with riding, but she is always comical herself. This morning, Charity called me into the laundry room and told me to look in the washer. the door was closed (it's a front loader) and I could see a box of muffin mix and a can of parmesian cheese carefully locked in the washer. I asked her if they were dirty (she says 'ditty' with a slightly british accent) and she said 'Yaaa". She took me back later to show me they were now in the dryer. She's a little comedian herself. Well, hope all is well. We miss everyone and hope you are having a great March.
